COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Southeastern Community College’s Small Business Center will offer a leadership and management certification program during the fall 2012 semester. Making Team Relationships Magical will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12, 9 a.m.-noon, T-Building, room 120. In this dynamic free seminar, attendees will learn how to avoid misunderstandings, create better relationships with customers, get along with anyone in the workplace, be more effective in sales and create relationships that will lead to profits.

Taking Control of Your Work Day – Business as UNusual

Taking Control of Your Work Day – Business as UNusual will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, 1-4 p.m., T-Building, room 120. This free seminar will teach participants to recognize the dynamics of change in today’s economy, communicate that change to employees, and take control of the workday by effectively managing the impact of that change

Employee Initiative: How to Make it Happen

Employee Initiative: How to Make it Happen will be held Tuesday, October 23, 9 a.m.-noon, T-Building, room 120. This free seminar will discuss creating a shared vision with employees along with identifying and overcoming obstacles to empowerment.  Participants will establish meaningful accountability measures and evaluate the most effective way to “make it happen”.

Verbal Yoga – The Power of the Tongue

Verbal Yoga – The Power of the Tongue will be held Friday, November 9, 1-4 p.m., T-Building, room 122. This free seminar covers how to effectively “stretch” communications skills as participants learn what never to say, how to listen and always be heard, engage people through understanding and stop verbal attacks in their tracks.

Transmitting Customer Friendly Signals

Transmitting Customer Friendly Signals will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27, 1-4 p.m., T-Building, room 122. Knowing what to say and how to say it can make the difference between disgruntled customers, difficult customers, and satisfied customers. In this free seminar, attendees will learn how to communicate more effectively to increase personal and professional productivity.

The Manager’s Tool Kit

The Manager’s Tool Kit will be held Thursday, Dec. 6, 9 a.m.-noon., T-Building, room 122.  This free seminar, filled with practical tools and tips, provides a friendly approach for those charged with the task of supervision. These powerful lessons will help to: increase productivity, unlock hidden talent, motivate and develop team members, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines.
