'Beauty and the Beast' to captivate local audiences Feb. 18 | Arts & Culture

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Adventure, romance and ancient curses – Beauty and the Beast has it all. This award-winning musical will transport audiences to a time long, long ago on Monday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. at Bowers Auditorium.

Southeastern Community College is presenting this family classic as part of its Richard F. Burkhardt Fine and Performing Arts Series, which is sponsored by the SCC Foundation.

All-new songs tell Beauty’s journey from her home to the Beast’s castle, where she tries to save her father and discovers that the power of love can overcome even the beastliest of adversities.

Admission is $5 for children and $10 for adults. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling (910) 642-7141, ext. 320.

The series continues with the Dr. Sharyn Edwards Piano Festival and Competition, March 14-16, and the 8th Annual Honors Jazz Band Festival, April 18 and 20.
