Columbus Co. leaders plan to visit China | Business

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Last month, nearly a dozen officials from a city in China visited Columbus County to tour factories and talk about possible bringing jobs to the rural county.

At Monday night's county commissioners meeting, commissioners said that they decided to take a trip to China, adding that the trip will likely be at the end of October, and they will pay for their own ways there.

The county's economic director Gary Lanier, is also going, and the county will pay his way.

County officials hope they can network and recruit companies to the county.
