WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) - Whiteville City Council members will likely make a decision on what to do about a moisture problem at city hall on Tuesday night.
According to Mayor Terry Mann, for years, there has been a moisture issue in the basement, and it's getting worse.
Mann says that council can either seal off the basement or not use it anymore, or they can spend money to remodel the basement.
The mayor says that if the cost is under $450,000, he’s in favor of fixing the problem. Whiteville City Manager Larry Faison says that three employees are still working in the basement.
According to Faison, an analysis was done and there is mold.
He says that they're watchful of the situation, and as of right now, none of the employees have reported any type of health problems.
