Accountant agrees to do senior citizen taxes for free | Business
WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) – CPA Richard Thompson will begin working at the Whiteville Department of Aging January 15. He will be on hand to do senior’s taxes for free.
Department of Aging Director Ed Worley hopes Thompson’s services will be available until April 15.
Worley has reached out to accountants in the past to help senior citizens, but this is the first time something was established.
Seniors make up a third of the population in Columbus County.
Anyone over 60 years old will be able to call and schedule an appointment.
