COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Wednesday, more than 1,500 middle school students at West Columbus High heard former NFL player Levar Fisher speak.
Fisher, who played for the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals, is part of a campaign called Freeze and Think About It, in which he travels around the country speaking to middle school and high school students on how the decisions they make have consequences and hold on to your dreams.
"I talk about holding on to your dreams." Fisher said. "You're going to go through some adversity in your life but when you slip and fall you get back up."
Making good choices is what led Fisher to NC State where he was the ACC's defensive player of the year in 2000 and later an Academic All-American.
"I'm hoping to help kids understand the decisions they make will help dictate their future, freeze and think about it."
