COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Southeastern Community College recognized its outstanding students at a recent awards ceremony sponsored by the Student Government Association.
- The Outstanding Civic Engagement award was presented to Erik Boone of Whiteville.
- John Britt of Lumberton received the Outstanding Student award in Banking and Finance.
- The Outstanding Student award in Business Administration was presented to Ashley Butler of Whiteville.
- Mallory Cameron of Whiteville received the Business Administration Leadership award.
- The Foundations of Education award was presented to Julie Christenson of Whiteville.
- Marshall Crumpler of Whiteville received the Outstanding History award.
- The Leadership award in Improved College Reading was presented to Zachary Faulk of Whiteville.
- Roman Grainger of Whiteville was awarded Outstanding Choir Student. He also received the Outstanding Achievement in Piano award.
- The Outstanding Communication award was granted to Rhonda Griffin of Bladenboro.
- John Hammonds of Lumberton was named Outstanding Student of Environmental Science Technology.
- The Outstanding Student award in Anatomy and Physiology was presented to Julia Hobbs of Whiteville.
- Felicia McLean-Kesler of Fairmont was awarded Outstanding Student in Criminal Justice.
- Daniel Khan of Bolivia was granted Outstanding Student in Environmental Science Technology.
- The Outstanding Student award in Allied Health Chemistry was presented to Brooke M. Leggett of Lumberton.
- The Outstanding Student in General Biology I award was presented to Avneet K. Nagra of Tabor City.
- The Outstanding Achievement in Piano award was presented to Christina Palmer of Delco.
- Kaneisha Powell of Whiteville was granted the Leadership award in Intro to College Reading.
- The award for Critical thinking was presented to Lisa Sadler of Whiteville.
- Stephanie Skurtu of Orrum received the Outstanding Student award in General Chemistry.
- The Outstanding Student award in General Biology I was presented to Ashley Walker of Chadbourn.
- Morgan Walters of Whiteville received the Political Science award.
- The award for Outstanding Achievement in Piano was granted to Whitney Ward of Chadbourn.
- Brenda Watts of Tabor City was awarded Outstanding Achievement in Early Childhood.
- The award for Outstanding Phi Theta Kappa Member was received by Donna Carter Williamson of Chadbourn.
- Nicolas Williams of Whiteville received the Outstanding Student award in Environmental Science Technology.
- Members of Phi Beta Lambda, a division of Future Business Leaders of America, were also recognized. They were Heather Hernandez Arraiz of Lumberton, Mallory Cameron of Whiteville, Karen Crowner of Tabor City, Ariel Jacobs of Lumberton, Sabrina Jacobs of Lake Waccamaw, Whitney McKenzie of Bladenboro and Yvonne Vinck of Bolton.
