Whiteville approves new travel policy | Community Spirit

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Council members in Whiteville have approved a new travel policy for elected leaders.

Mayor Terry Mann said they thought for years there was a travel policy in place for council members, but there was only a written policy for city employees.

All of that’s now going to change.

Some of the policy consists of a rotating system that will be used for two council members at a time to attend certain conferences. Also in the policy, spouses who travel with council members must prepay for the trip.
