WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) - Whiteville Police Officers conducted a drug round-up Tuesday afternoon as a result of complaints from people in the community and repeat offenders, according to the Whiteville Police Department.
Investigators say the arrests are a result of undercover drug buys dating back to August.
Most drug round-ups are done early in the morning or at night, but officers in Whiteville were looking for street level dealers who stand on street corners, which is why their round was during the day.
Police were hoping to arrest a little more than twenty people. So far, 11 people have been arrested in the round up. Two others are expected to turn themselves in Wednesday.
