LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WECT) – The Boys and Girls Home School of NC was preliminarily approved several weeks ago to become a charter school.
A final decision will be made in March to determine if the school will become a charter.
Gary Faircloth, the school's CEO, said his staff is training in preparation for the decision and is confident their campus is equipped to become a charter school.
According to Faircloth, there are programs they plan to implement if the school becomes a charter to help with students at the school who are at risk or have behavioral problems.
Faircloth said they will add more classrooms because becoming a charter will increase enrollment. Right now there are around 50 students enrolled at the Boys and Girls Home School of NC.
