SCC offers continuing education course and seminars | Education

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Southeastern Community College’s Workforce and Community Development Division will offer a continuing education class and several seminars in the coming weeks. To pre-register or for more information, call (910) 642-7141, ext. 296, 397 or 425.

Financial assistance with registration fees and books to gain new employment-related skills may be available through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and other funding sources.

The Manager’s Tool Kit will be held Thursday, Dec. 6, 9 a.m.-noon in T-Building, room 122. This free seminar, filled with practical tools and tips, provides a friendly approach for those charged with the task of supervision.

How to Do the 501(c)(3) Thing will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, 6-9 p.m. in T-Building, room 120. In this free seminar, participants will learn the definition of a 501(c)(3), steps to establish a 501(c)(3), creation of a board of directors, and development of bylaws and budgets.

Baby Boomers – Ready, Set, Prepare: Protect Your Healthcare and Your Assets will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13, 6-8 p.m. in T-Building, room 122. This free seminar discusses preparing for nursing home care and costs while preserving the maximum amount of assets for family members. 

N.C. Escort Vehicle Operator Certification

N.C. Escort Vehicle Operator Certification will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. in T-Building, room 122. All escort vehicle operators are required to obtain an approved certification prior to performing the duties of an oversize/overweight load escort vehicle operator in North Carolina. The course fee is $65.
