SCC Small Business Center offers leadership and management certification | Education

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Southeastern Community College’s Small Business Center will offer a Leadership and Management Certification Program during the spring semester.

Survival Skills for the Small Business Owner

Survival Skills for the Small Business Owner will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, 1-4 p.m. in T-Building, room 122. If you aren’t delegating and coaching, you’re not leading. These are two of the most difficult leadership skills to develop. This session will help you with those areas as well as listening to your employees and holding effective meetings.

7 Strategies for Sales Success

7 Strategies for Sales Success will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27, 9 a.m.-noon in T-Building, room 122. Regardless of the product or service, the universal laws covered in this seminar will help you move from the starting line to the finish line using creative prospecting and supreme services. Learn how to use questions to open up any hard-nosed prospect and boost your sales success.

Time Management for Your Small Business

Time Management for Your Small Business will be held Thursday, March 21, 2-5 p.m. in T-Building, room 101. Trying to get everything done can be impossible in today’s up-to-the-minute world. Attend this free seminar and learn how to set and track priorities, meet timelines and deadlines, what to do in times of crisis and conflict, and how to handle the information avalanche.

Bold Management for Challenging Times

Bold Management for Challenging Times will be held Thursday, April 4, 2-5p.m. in T-Building, room 120. During this free seminar, attendees will learn how to become highly marketable as leaders, hiring and training approaches that maximize bottom line, what to do about problem employees, and ways to build commitment among employees.

Developing Performance Goals and Strategies

Developing Performance Goals and Strategies will be held Thursday, April 18, 1-4p.m. in T Building, room 111. This free seminar shows how to establish specific, measurable, attainable, result-oriented, and time-framed performance standards. It then illustrates the steps that gain team-member agreement and commitment to those performance standards.

Effective Communication – It’s 80% of What You Do will be held Thursday, May 9, 1-4 p.m. in T-Building, room 122. Have you ever felt helpless, powerless, and ineffective? Attend this free seminar to gain an understanding of communication styles that promote mutual respect, openness, and problem-solving; effective communication with verbal, non-verbal, and written skills; listening, questioning, and feedback skills for reinforcement and support.
