COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Columbus County is going green. All county departments will start to recycle.
Commissioners voted during their last meeting to allow Commissioner Edwin Russ, who owns go Green Recycling, to get recyclables from county offices.
County Manager Bill Clark said recyclables would just be thrown away in the past, unless county employees voluntarily recycled.
Russ said this move will save taxpayers money because it cuts down on the amount of trash waste management picks up.
