Swing Era music on tap for Hill Fete at SCC

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The stage is set for a musical tribute to the ‘swing’ and ‘crooner’ eras of music that will entertain Dewey L. Hill and his guests at the 35th Annual Southeastern Community College Foundation Dinner Theatre on Saturday, April 13, at 6 p.m.

Hill, the president of Hillcrest Corporation, the owner of five local Hill’s Food Stores and a 20-year legislative representative, was chosen to be honored for his contributions to the Foundation and the community.

Reminiscent of the style made popular by the Andrews Sisters, the modern-day trio, GLAD, will entertain with selections from the swing and boogie-woogie eras. The trio, comprised of local residents Glenda Cable, Donna Williamson and Cindy Allgood, are an acclaimed close-harmony trio. They have recorded three popular CDs.
