EVERGREEN, NC (WECT) - The owner of a popular hangout spot called Balls in Columbus County is out of jail on a $10,000 bond.

Wednesday, James Bethea was arrested after deputies searched his establishment. Balls was the site of a triple shooting early Monday morning.

Deputies and officials with Alcohol Law Enforcement conducted the sweep around 3 p.m. Wednesday. They found large quantities of alcohol, according to officials on the scene. The club was not permitted for the alcohol. 

Deputies say the owner, James Bethea, faces a charges of having a firearm by a felon and a drug charge dating back to 1993. He will also face alcohol charges from ALE.  

Investigators say early Monday morning, someone shot Orlando Gaddy, 18, and Quinton Mitchell, 25, along with Hope Smith, 26. Smith has been treated and released, while the other two are in the hospital.
