DEPUTIES: Man pointed gun at wife's head, threatened to kill her | News

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A man from Columbus County faces several charges after an incident with his wife.

According to sheriff's deputies, Trace Maloey Cartwright went to his home off Greens Mill Road in Clarkton on January 21 and got into an argument with his wife.

Deputies say Cartwright hit her, grabbed her around her throat, pointed a gun at her and made her get in a car.

Investigators say they went to an ATM and withdrew money. Deputies say Cartwright pointed the gun at his wife's head and took her back home, where they say he threatened to kill her.

Cartwright was recently arrested in Brunswick County on charges of communicating threats, second degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault on a female.
