Whiteville City Council to vote on travel policy

WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) - Next month, Whiteville City Council members will vote on a travel policy.

Mayor Terry Mann says that for years, they thought there was a travel policy for council members, but there was only a written policy for city employees.

Earlier this week, council members had a workshop and discussed a proposed policy.

If approved next month, some of the policy will consist of a rotating system that will be used for two council members at a time to attend certain conferences, and spouses who travel with council members must prepay.
