Commissioners to receive update on new courthouse

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Commissioners in Columbus County will get an update on a new courthouse at their meeting on Monday night.

Nearly two years ago, Commissioners decided to build a new courthouse because the current one is hundreds of years old.

Architects will let county leaders know how plans for the new structure are going and they’re hoping to receive the green light to start accepting bids for the project.

Once the courthouse is built, Commissioners say the county will still use the old building. It’s just unclear at this time how it will be used.
