COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A company out of Tarboro, North Carolina has been awarded a contract to resurface more than eight miles of U.S. 74 near downtown Whiteville.
The N.C. Department of Transportation gave the contract to Barnhill Contracting Company. The project is worth $4.9 million. The work includes resurfacing the highway and reconstructing the shoulder along U.S. 74 between U.S. 76 and U.S. 74 Business.
The project will start as soon as April 30th and last through mid-November.
