Photo Gallery | Students’ owl artwork on display at NC Museum of Forestry

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The artwork of area middle school students is now on display at the North Carolina Museum of Forestry.

“Owl Things Wise And Wonderful” is an exhibit including 600 owls, created by students from Nakina and Williams Township Schools, according to the Columbus County Schools website.

The owls will be on display through Jan. 14, and admission to the museum is free.

Students utilized five art techniques to create their owl masterpieces and learned about the owl’s behavior, habitat and importance.

The students take art classes from LuAnn Pickell, who recently earned National Board Certification. She created the owl project as part of new NC Essential Standards for a visual arts curriculum.
